MARKETING MANAGER

WESTERN REGION

 

Reports To: Director, Channel Marketing

 This position covers a multi-state region in the Western part of the USA.

 

 

General Responsibilities:

Implements the industry’s strategy for increasing beef and veal demand in the retail channel. Works as a liaison and a main point of contact with state beef councils within the region, working to assist them with the creation and execution of marketing plans aligned with national programs.  Executes responsibilities based upon the beef industry’s Long Range Plan and the strategies and tactics identified in the NCBA Operating Plan. Develops strong relationships with retail executives and state beef councils.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

·         Professionally manage targeted retail accounts and coordinate activities with State Beef Councils within a designated region.

·        Serve as the primary destination for beef and veal knowledge and information for retail clients in the supermarket industry.

·        Serve as a representative and information source on NCBA programs to retail accounts and State Beef Councils.

·        Present and implement marketing programs to corporate headquarters and divisional offices that establish and maintain an advantageous position for beef in the retail supermarket channel.

·        Work closely with the Director, Channel Marketing and other NCBA staff and agencies to provide timely market intelligence.

·        Work with the Federation of State Beef Councils to extend national programs to the state level.

·        Coordinate regional activities and provide information to other NCBA marketing staff to ensure proper execution of retail beef marketing programs.

·        Develop and manage regional retail budgets as assigned.

·        Establish a tactical plan to achieve goals and objectives within region.

·        Interface with multiple departments within the NCBA to provide input from the retail channel.

·        Participate at selected conventions and conferences throughout the year.

·        Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Overnight travel is required in this position. 
  • Must live within the designated region or Denver, CO area.
  • Travel will vary from 50% to 70%
  • May require travel and/or work on weekends.
  • Essential to have easy access to a major airport.

 

 

General Qualifications:

Prefer a Bachelor’s degree with strong retail experience and a basic understanding of the beef industry including: producer, processor, distributor and retailer business operations.  Must understand the structure and operations of the retail supermarket business and familiarity with the merchandising and marketing of retail beef cuts.  Successful project management skills a plus.

 

Applicants must have expertise in the development, presentation, implementation, and evaluation of marketing programs designed to increase beef purchases by consumers at targeted retail accounts.  Excellent communication skills a must. Be a team player and appreciative of diverse points of view.

 

 

     Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
