MANAGER, Television Production Services
Reports to: Director, NCBA Communications
General Responsibilities:
Works as a backpack journalist shooting, writing and editing stories for air. Serves as the associate producer in the production of NCBA’s television ventures, including the development of rundowns, scripts and live on-air product. Identify news opportunities within NCBA to fuel television content. Understand and meet sponsor business objectives within the context of NCBA communications. Implement and manage systems to streamline and maintain functionality of NCBA’s television production services.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Shoots, writes, reports and edits stories for air on all NCBA television productions and for web content.
• Enterprises stories to meet the needs of program sponsors and NCBA.
• Works as associate producer on all television ventures including development of scripts, rundowns, and graphics.
• Attends and assists during all studio shoots and serves as a member of the studio crew.
• Works with show’s executive producer to develop show promos for television, radio and print.
• Helps develop and work with team to execute show marketing plan, including stories for publications, news releases when appropriate for trade media, and other advertising.
• Writes NCBA stories for television network publications and works with network to establish and meet deadlines.
• Writes feature length, print stories for distribution to print media and online.
• Works to fulfill NCBA’s sponsor commitment both in terms of story production and other needs as they arise.
• Develops and maintain system for tracking sponsor requests.
• Develops and maintain system for tracking advertising schedules.
• Contributes and helps to maintain all of NCBA’s television related websites.
• Represent show to industry stakeholders and sponsors
• Understand and meet network television requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The manager should have a communications-related college degree and experience in new television production. Two to four years of work experience, or comparable college experience, required. Strong broadcast writing, shooting and editing skills a must. Proven ability to work on a team, meet deadlines and juggle multiple deadlines. Ability to take direction and work independently. Experience as a line producer and/or on-air talent beneficial. Knowledge of the beef industry helpful.
