CLINT BLACK HEADLINING AT CATTLEMEN'S CENTENNIAL FINALE

DENVER, Colo., Oct. 22, 1997 -- Country music giant Clint Black will be headlining at the Grand Finale Evening Event of the Cattlemen's Centennial Convention, to be held Feb. 4-7, 1998, in Denver, Colo. The Feb. 7 event will mark the culmination of four days of beef industry committee and board meetings.

Black has had over 20 top-10 hits and a string of million-selling albums since he first debuted on country music charts in 1989. Hits such as "Better Man," "Killing Time," and "A Bad Goodbye," have earned Black numerous awards over the past near- decade, such as the Country Music Association's Male Vocalist of the Year award, the American Music Award for Favorite New Male Country Artist and the Academy of Country Music's awards for Album of the Year and Best Male Vocalist.

The singer's latest album, Nothin' But the Taillights is also expected to be a million-seller with songs such as "Still Holding On," a duet with Martina McBride.

Black will perform to a crowd of approximately 2,000 Centennial-goers. The formal event is sponsored by Merial, Ltd., and is open to registered attendees only. The event will be held in a Victorian ballroom setting and consists of a pre-event reception, full course dinner, Black's performance, and a country dance band following.

Registration and meeting information are available through the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's Conventions and Meetings Department at 303/694-0305. Tickets for the Grand Finale Evening Event are $65 with your convention pre-registration.

Initiated in 1898, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association is the national marketing organization and trade association for America's one million cattle farmers, ranchers and feeders. With offices in Denver, Chicago and Washington, D.C., NCBA is a consumer-focused, producer-directed association representing the largest segment of the nation's food and fiber industry.
